The intention of this new approach can be captured in one word: interactivity
Matthijs Pot (2nd from the left) was out placed in 2003 as industrial designer at Koppert Biological Systems. His effort resulted in a success in Austria in the end of 2004. Together with the cardboard supplier SCA Packaging from Austria, they worked on an award winning design.
Koppert Biological Systems has won the first prize with the new NATUPOL hive, in a design contest for progressive packaging. In cooperation with its Austrian paperboard supplier, SCA Packaging, Koppert won this prize in the category ‘transport packaging’.
The prize consists of a Certificate plus the approval to use the logo of the competition for commercial purposes. Koppert is also nominated for the ‘Worldstar’, the international contest for packaging designs.
The Austrian ministry of science and labour annually organizes this design competition. Primary goal is to promote innovative and progressive packaging.
The registrations are divided in two disciplines; transport - and consumer packaging. The critical jury has assessed the design by means of specific technical, scientific and graphic aspects. User friendly and environment aspects are additional criteria.
The comment of the judging-committee was as follows:
"Perfect product design thanks to an adjusted ventilation system in combination with a good presentation of the product. Efficient combination of paperboard and plastic components; maximum functionality in construction, logistic process and in the lifecycle of the bumblebees.”
